π― Goals
Enable verified students to access discounted offers smoothly.
Integrate SheerID with minimal friction in the purchase journey.
Build trust in the verification process without overwhelming the user.
Ensure legal compliance and brand consistency.
π Problem
Our student customers were abandoning purchases at a high rate during verification. We needed to reduce drop-off while maintaining eligibility accuracy.
We were getting scammed by fake student accounts with high rate.Β
New Partner:
SheerID isΒ a company that specializes in verifying consumers' identities for businesses, particularly for gated offers and loyalty programs.Β They use their Audience Data Platform and a vast network of data sources to instantly verify attributes like student, military, teacher, or other affiliations, helping businesses target specific customer segments and prevent offer abuse.Β
Use Cases
We started to study SheerID workflows with other companies like (Adobe, Spotify, Amazon, SoundCloud) to build custom user flow that match our customer needs.

βοΈ User Flows:
Pre-verification path: Student browses product, sees βStudentβ CTA.
Verification flow: Opens SheerID modal β inputs info β real-time validation or manual upload fallback.

Choose Creative Suite and Verify Student Status.

π‘ Reflection
This project taught me how to balance user trust, legal constraints, and business needs in a sensitive flow. Small touchpoints like tone of voice, timing of information, and visual hierarchy made a big difference in reducing drop-off and frustration.
